Job summary

Associated Milk Producers Inc. in Sanborn, IA is seeking a part-time transport driver to move raw milk from farms to trailers, following DOT rules and AMPI policies.

Must hold a valid CDL Class A with tanker endorsement, be at least 21, have a clean MVR, and one year of tractor/trailer experience; two years preferred. Benefits include PTO, 401k, health, dental, and more.

Responsibilities

• Operate a commercial vehicle to transport raw milk per schedule.
• Transfer milk from farm containers to trailers and take quality samples.
• Follow routes, minimize idle time, and maintain documentation.
• Report issues to supervisors and maintain safe, clean facility conduct.

Description

AMPI owns six Midwest-based manufacturing plants where 10 percent of the nation’s American-type cheese and processed cheese is produced. The cooperative’s award-winning cheese and powdered dairy products are marketed to foodservice, retail and food ingredient customers. In 2019, the co-op launched its Dinner Bell Creamery brand and accompanying Co-op Crafted promise, highlighting more than 50 years of dairy farm families partnering with skilled cheesemakers.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

This list of duties and responsibilities is not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities as management may deem necessary from time to time:

• All AMPI employees have an obligation to report employee safety, food safety and food quality issues to personnel of authority.
• This position has a heightened food safety and food quality responsibilities.
• Operates a commercial motor vehicle in compliance with DOT and AMPI rules, regulations and policies adhering to all safety practices
• Following schedule and directions from location supervisory personnel, travels to location to transport raw milk
• Transfers raw milk from farm containers to trailer
• Takes quality and control samples at farm
• Measures milk loaded into trailer
• Follows designated routes and schedules unless otherwise directed by supervisory personnel
• Takes measures to minimize truck idle times and conserve fuel consumption
• Maintains positive communications with producers, listens for issues or potential problems, reports producers' comments to transportation and member services management
• Represents AMPI positively and professionally at all times during interactions with producers, customers, or regulatory personnel
• Maintain proper documentation in all formats of recordkeeping
• Assist with general cleaning and housekeeping throughout the plant as needed
• Adhere to all aspects of company and customer safety, sanitation and site policies.
• Assists with training new employees;
• Adhere to all Quality and Food Safety policies and procedures, reporting any nonconformity
• Adhere to all Safety policies and procedures, reporting any nonconformity
• Adhere to all GMP policies and procedures, reporting any nonconformity

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

Must have a current CDL (Class A) in state of residence.

• Must have, or be able to obtain, tanker endorsement.
• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• An acceptable Motor Vehicle Report is required and must have a minimum of one-year recent tractor/trailer experience.
• Two years of recent tractor/trailer experience is preferred
