Job summary

Piping Rock Health Products, INC is seeking a Bulk Material Handler for the 1st shift in Aurora, Ohio. You will operate material handling equipment, move materials to needed areas, load/unload trucks, and keep storage organized while following SOPs and cGMPs.

Basic English reading/writing and math skills are required; bilingual ability is a plus. The role supports a safe manufacturing environment with opportunities for training and benefits; lifting up to 50 lbs and standing for extended periods

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required or equivalent.
• Bi-lingual is a plus.
• Proficient with basic computer skills.
• Ability to read, write and understand English.
• Prior manufacturing or packaging experience preferred.
• Physically capable of lifting up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Operates material handling equipment independently and with a team.
• Moves material to appropriate destinations within the facility.
• Loads and unloads trucks.
• Keeps materials organized in storage or staging areas.
• Follows company policies, SOPs and GMPs; adheres to safety rules.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Job description

Under the direction of the Manager/Supervisor/Lead Person, the Bulk Material Handler is responsible for the movement of products (materials, components) to supply department needs. Also responsible for adhering to the Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s) that are in effect assuring the quality and quantity of product produced.

1st Shift: Monday-Friday 7:00am – 3:30pm

Responsibilities:

• Operates material handling equipment independently as well as within a team environment


• Moves material to appropriate destinations


• Load and unload the trucks


• Organizes and maintains materials and other components in storage or staging area


• Complies with company policies and procedures and maintains regular work attendance.


• Personal responsibility for following safety rules, SOPs and cGMPs


• Disposes of cardboard boxes and garbage


• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• Must comply with GMP requirements; specific functions and documents will be discussed in GMP and on the job training


• High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred


• Bi-lingual is a plus


• Prior manufacturing or packaging experience preferred


• Must be able to read, write and understand English.


• Complies with company policies and procedures and maintains regular work attendance


• Proficient computer skills and strong math skills (addition, subtraction, percentages, averages).


• Physical effort – ability to lift up to 50 lbs.


• Ability to write simple correspondence in English


• Must be able to lift 50lbs


• Ability to work in a physically challenging environment, including the ability to stand, bend, stoop, twist, pull, push, and reach for up to 8 hours


• Work environment may be exposed to powders, chemicals, and allergens (peanuts, tree nuts, milk, dairy, eggs, wheat, gluten, soy, fish, and shellfish)
