Job summary

Lhoist North America is seeking a hands-on Truck Loader to manage truck loading and provide responsive customer service at the plant. You will weigh trucks, ensure accurate data entry, and load bulk materials while maintaining safety standards.

The role requires 0-5 years experience, a high school diploma, and flexibility to work shifts, weekends, and overtime. Familiarity with MSHA rules and basic math helps ensure quality and on-time shipments.

  • Must be able to work shift work, seven days a week including holidays and be flexible to schedule changes, including overtime.
  • Manufacturing background and strong customer service skills.
  • Knowledge of MSHA rules as they relate to the position.

Responsibilities

  • Weigh trucks in and out of plant.
  • Track weight information and enter data into the computer system.
  • Load bulk trucks with accuracy and avoid overloads.
  • Identify correct material products and ensure correct weight loaded.
  • Take quality samples for customer quality assurance.
  • Greet drivers and handle data entry/phones as needed.
  • Operate shipping systems (JWS/Transwide) and shadow CSR daily tickets.

Position Summary

Responsible for truck loading and customer service while abiding by all MSHA safety regulations, Safe Feed Safe Food/Safe Quality Feed (SFSF/SQF), quality systems, and company policies.

Responsibilities & Expectations
Truck Loading
  • Weigh trucks in and out of plant
  • Track weight information from scale to computer system
  • Ensure accurate data is entered into computer system
  • Ability to accurately load bulk trucks with minimal overloads and reloads
  • Ability to identify correct material products
  • Ensures correct product and weight is loaded onto trucks.
  • Inspects trucks in compliance of Safe Feed Safe Food (SFSF) and Quality systems
  • Takes quality samples of loads to ensure customer quality assurance.
Customer Service
  • Greet and direct truck drivers upon exit of the scale house.
  • Data entry and answer phones as needed.
  • Assist site leaders with assigned tasks.
Safety
  • Ensure that truck drivers conduct business in a safe manner.
  • Provide general upkeep of the scale house.
  • Report any operational or safety problems to management.
  • Perform daily work place exams (WPE) including fall protection equipment, loading equipment, and all of shipping work space to MSHA standard General Duties
General Duties
  • Efficiently operate JWS, Transwide, and BOL interface with ability to add and void tickets
  • Understand & shadow Customer Service (CSR) reviewing and posting daily tickets (recommend 40 hrs/year)
  • Notify office when low inventory of shipping supplies (Paper, Toner, Labels, Forms)
  • Ability to safely reset shipping area breakers
  • Begin learning the plant production process flow by cross training (recommend 40 hrs/year)
  • Illustrate a quality competence on testing procedures and customer requirements (recommend 40 hrs/year in lab)
  • Ability to operate equipment- Dump Truck, Skid Steer, 972 Loader, Water Truck, scissor lift and manlift
  • Ability to repair chutes and pulleys in the shipping area
  • Consistently inputs SAP Maintenance Notifications
  • Ability to safely “unplug” a silo
  • Takes ownership in shipping area with housekeeping excellence including vegetation clean up
  • Consistently achieves high completion of daily task list

  • Effectively communicate and interact with supervisors, managers, and peers.
  • Multi-tasking skills with the ability to operate a computer.
  • Knowledge of MSHA rules as they relate to the position.
  • All personnel will be responsible for the facilities’ Safe Food initiative based on FSMA and Current Good Manufacturing Practices.
Physical Demands Include, But Are Not Limited To:
  • Tolerate working outside in severe weather conditions as well as exposure to industrial high temperature, noise and dust.
  • Access all areas within a site which could include heights of 80 feet, confined spaces, frequent climbing ladders or stairs, and accessing tunnels.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds Outdoors.

Required Education
  • High School Diploma or GED Equivalent.
Required Experience
  • 0-5 years related experience.
Preferred Experience
  • 1-5 years related experience in an industrial environment
