Job Overview

The Bulk Account Merchandiser Specialist is a critical support role within the POD Model in the One Tier Sales Strategy, operating in a flexible, 24/7 environment. This role is especially important due to the shift of Dollar General and some independent groceries from Small Store to Large Store channels. The BAM Specialist provides vacation coverage for the Bulk Account Merchandiser and Merchandiser, serves as the first contact for late PM/early AM weekends to ensure route coverage, and acts as a liaison between the customer, merchandiser, and driver for order refusals and inventory overloads. The role may involve executing weekend operational plans with minimal influence on strategic changes, and keeping the DSM informed as appropriate.

Duties & Responsibilities
  1. Fills, merchandises, and rotates products on display and shelves according to procedures and special programs.
  2. Provides vacation coverage to the Bulk Account Merchandiser and POD Merchandiser.
  3. Manages, sells, and executes in an assigned group of customers on pre-set routes, generating sales orders based on delivery frequency to ensure operational success and contribute to the company's financial performance.
  4. Executes applicable promotions and new products based on target lists, monthly initiatives, marketing promotions, Point-Of-Sale, and commercial plans to ensure high RED scores for assigned customers.
  5. Organizes and maintains the back room, stacking and arranging products, managing returns, and handling damaged or out-of-date products.
  6. Creates and distributes point-of-sale materials, rotates products, and checks vendor operations.
  7. Builds and maintains business relationships with store personnel through routine follow-up on requests, pricing, programs, and opportunities.
  8. Identifies and communicates market or competitive issues that could impact the business, ensuring all duties are performed safely.
  9. May serve as the first contact for late PM/early AM weekends, ensuring route coverage and acting as liaison for orders and inventory issues.
