Job summary

SAU 6 Public Schools seeks a building-wide Special Education Paraprofessional to support SRVRTC students with IEPs across all six CTE programs. The role provides direct instructional, behavioral, and safety support in shop environments.

Responsibilities include implementing IEP accommodations, differentiating lessons, and maintaining student safety while promoting workplace soft skills and collaboration with instructors and case managers.

Qualifications

• Meets state requirements for paraprofessionals (Paraeducator certification or equivalent).
• Willing to work across all six CTE programs.
• Experience with high-school students with disabilities or learning differences preferred.
• Strong classroom and shop management to redirect students in fast-paced environments.
• Excellent communication to collaborate with instructors, case managers, and students.

Responsibilities

• IEP implementation and support during project-based learning.
• Differentiate instruction and simplify technical directions.
• Safety supervision in high-risk shop environments.
• Coaching workplace soft skills: stamina, emotional regulation, teamwork, communication, problem-solving.
• Collaborate with regional teams and SRVRTC instructors to track progress and adjust accommodations.
