Job summary

Simpson Gumpertz & Heger (SGH) is seeking a Consulting Engineer to manage small to medium projects involving design, investigations, and repairs of existing buildings. You will lead project teams, maintain client relationships, and assist with construction administration.

Occasional travel and climbing may be required. The role requires a PE or RA license, a relevant engineering degree, and at least five years of experience in architecture, engineering, or construction management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in architecture, engineering or architectural engineering is required.
• Professional Engineer license or registered architect status is required.
• Strong written and oral communication skills are essential.
• Ability to meet deadlines and work well in a team environment.
• Experience with building envelopes, curtain walls, repairs and construction administration is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist senior staff in design, site investigations, and documentation of existing conditions.
• Investigate and remediate building envelope malfunctions.
• Design and provide construction assistance to contractors and architects.
• Sample envelope components including walls, windows, roofs, and skylights.
• Conduct field investigations and water leakage testing of roofing and waterproofing systems.
