The City of Elgin seeks a skilled Building Maintenance worker to operate and maintain boilers, chillers, pumps, and related building systems. You will perform general repairs, monitor gauges, and support electrical, plumbing, and minor construction tasks as required.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED, four years of experience in building maintenance, EPA 608 certification, and an Illinois driver’s license. This is a full-time, on-site role emphasizing safety and reliability.

Formación

• Requires thorough knowledge of building systems operation, maintenance and repair.
• Ability to prepare records/logs of equipment and work activities; communicate effectively in writing and orally.
• Extensive knowledge of MS Office Suite and email systems.

Responsabilidades

• Operate boilers, chillers and pumps; monitor gauges; log readings and adjust as needed.
• Test boiler and cooling water chemistry (pH, DO, solids).
• Perform general electrical, plumbing repairs; assist with interior/exterior building maintenance.
