Job summary

University of California, Riverside is seeking a Building Equipment Mechanic to perform journey-level work on campus mechanical equipment and climate control systems, including heating, ventilation, and related controls.

The role involves repair, maintenance, service, installation, modification, troubleshooting, inspection and monitoring of complex campus systems, with responsibilities for safety, documentation, and adherence to university policies.

Qualifications

• Must have current work authorization to accept a UCR staff position.
• We are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa for staff at this time.
• As a University employee, comply with all applicable University policies and/or collective bargaining agreements.

Responsibilities

• Repair, maintenance, service, installation, modification, troubleshooting and monitoring of building mechanical equipment and climate control systems.
• Support campus equipment operation including high pressure steam systems and EMS.
• Perform preventative maintenance and update equipment documentation and drawings as needed.
• Respond to emergencies and document inspections and testing.
