Job summary

Exchange Street Financial Services Ltd seeks an experienced Building Surveyor for Crewe (covering Cheshire). The role focuses on properties affected by general perils (fire, flood, storm) with added subsidence experience desirable.

You will lead claim evaluation, contractor management, and project oversight from assessment to final report. The ideal candidate has a Building Surveying degree (BSc Hons), strong communication skills, and knowledge of CAD, CDM Regs 2015, and planning legislation.

Qualifications

• Degree in Building Surveying (BSC Hons) required.
• MRICS / MCIOB qualification preferred.
• Experience in loss adjusting and subsidence project management is desirable.
• Familiarity with CAD, CDM Regs 2015, Party Wall Act 1996, Building Regulations and Planning Legislation.
• Strong written and verbal communication and excellent customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Claim Evaluation: review client and claim handler information and conduct site visits to validate claims.
• Customer Interaction: communicate with policyholders to gather information and explain liability and scope decisions.
• Claim Validation: use tools to create repair schedules and validate variations per policy terms.
• Project Management: oversee entire claim process from assessment to final report submission.
• Compliance: ensure processes comply with policies and Health & Safety legislation.
• Contractor Management: appoint contractors and provide clear instructions at claim outset.
