Monday - Friday: 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM Position Summary The Building Supply Customer Service Representative is responsible for assisting customers with product selection, pricing, order placement, scheduling deliveries, and resolving service-related issues. This position works closely with sales staff, warehouse personnel, and delivery drivers to ensure customers receive the materials and support needed to complete their projects successfully.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Greet and assist customers in person, by phone, and through email.
• Provide accurate information regarding building materials, pricing, product availability, and delivery schedules.
• Process customer orders, quotes, invoices, and returns.
• Coordinate with warehouse and delivery personnel to ensure timely and accurate order fulfillment.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of lumber, hardware, roofing, doors, windows, siding, and other building products.
• Review and verify customer orders for accuracy and completeness.
• Resolve customer concerns, delivery issues, and product discrepancies in a professional manner.
• Assist customers in identifying products that meet project requirements and budgets.
• Monitor inventory levels and communicate stock shortages or special-order requirements.
• Follow up on outstanding quotes and customer inquiries.
• Maintain accurate records of customer interactions, orders, and transactions.
• Support outside sales representatives and account managers with administrative and customer service functions.

Qualifications

Education

High school diploma or GED required. Associate degree in Business, Construction Management, or a related field preferred.

Experience

• 1-3 years of customer service, sales support, retail, construction, or building materials experience preferred.
• Experience in the building supply, lumber, hardware, or construction industry strongly preferred.
