Job summary

Plano Community Unit School District #88 is seeking a Building Substitute Teacher for Emily G. Johns Intermediate School (grades 4–6) for the remainder of the 2025-26 school year.

The role supports daily instruction in the absence of the regular teacher and follows provided lesson plans to maintain classroom routines. You will adapt to diverse classrooms, supervise students, and collaborate with staff to ensure academic and behavioral goals are met.

Qualifications

• Substitute teaching certificate required.
• PEL, Type 03 or Type 04 preferred.
• ESL preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Provide instruction and supervision for students in the absence of the regular classroom teacher, following provided lesson plans and maintaining established classroom routines.
• Adapt to diverse classroom environments and grade levels.
• Collaborate with staff and administration to support students' academic and behavioral needs.
• Manage classroom behavior to create a safe and productive learning environment.
• Assist with non-teaching duties as needed, such as supervising transitions, lunch, and other common areas.
• Communicate effectively with students, staff, and administration to ensure instructional objectives are met.
