The Kirtland Local School District is seeking an Elementary School Building Substitute Teacher to cover substitute teaching across Kirtland Elementary School. You will provide effective individualized instruction, support, and communication within a fast-paced environment, including possible remote learning options.

The role requires a valid Ohio teaching license, a clear BCII/FBI record, and prior school-based experience.

Responsibilities

• Review and implement regular teacher's routines, procedures and objectives.
• Facilitate student progress in the functional curriculum.
• Provide effective individualized instruction to students in assigned classroom and with possible remote learning online.
• Establish and maintain a safe and orderly classroom environment.
• Provide necessary support, communication, direction and feedback to assigned paraprofessional staff.
• Maintain regular, positive communication with building staff.
• Regular and punctual attendance is required.
• Other duties as assigned by school administration.

Elementary School - Building Substitute Teacher

This assignment consists of substitute teaching throughout Kirtland Elementary School.

Must be able to provide effective individualized instruction to students in assigned classroom and with possible remote learning online.

Rate Per Day: $125.00 per day (days 1-184- position ends 6/1/2027 177 Days)

Location: Kirtland Elementary School

Date Available: 08/12/2026

This position does not provide benefits. Flat daily rate of pay.

• Valid Ohio Teaching License or Certificate
• Evidence of a clear record as determined by the Bureau of Criminal Identification and Investigation (BCII) and Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI).
• Experience working with children in a school setting.
• Ability to maintain a well-managed, positive learning environment
