Job summary

The Town of Kearny is seeking a Building Subcode Official / Building Inspector to administer the Building Subcode of the NJ Uniform Construction Code, inspect buildings and construction projects to ensure compliance with plans and specifications.

Applicants must hold a valid HHS Building Subcode Official license issued by the New Jersey Department of Community Affairs and a valid NJ driver’s license. The position offers a full benefits package and PERS pension with a 35-hour work week.

Responsibilities

• Inspect buildings and construction projects to ensure plan/spec compliance.

Building Subcode Official / Building Inspector

Applicants must possess a valid license as an HHS Building Subcode Official issued by the New Jersey Department of Community Affairs, as well as a valid NJ driver's license. Under direction of the Construction Official, has the subordinate administrative responsibility for administering the Building Subcode of the NJ State Uniform Construction Code, and inspects all buildings and construction projects to ensure that compliance with plans and specifications is achieved; does other related duties as needed. Starting Salary $87,394. Full-time position, 35 hours per week, with full benefits package and PERS pension.
