Job summary

Cambridge-Isanti Schools in Cambridge, MN seeks a Building Specific Substitute Teacher for CIS to fill daily vacancies and support classroom teachers. The role requires following lesson plans, supervising students, and maintaining a positive learning environment.

This is a temporary, 7.5-hour daily assignment for the 26-27 school year. Eligible candidates hold MN Teaching License or Short Call Substitute License with background check, and have patience, flexibility, and strong communication

Qualifications

• MN Teaching License or Short Call Substitute License via PELSB required.
• Experience working with children preferred.
• Successful background check required.

Responsibilities

• Fill daily vacancies or other duties as assigned throughout the building.
• Effectively manage students.
• Assume duties and responsibilities of the absent teacher as assigned.
• Follow lesson plans left by the regular classroom teacher.
• Supervise and ensure the safety of students during classroom hours.
• Maintain a positive learning environment.
• Leave feedback and notes for the regular classroom teacher.
• Supervise non-classroom duties when assigned.

Qualifications/Experience: MN Teaching License, or if you have a four-degree you can obtain a Short Call Substitute License from PELSB. Successful background check required Experience working with children preferred

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities Needed: Knowledge of the principles and methodology of effective teaching; ability to establish relationships and maintain standards of behavior; willingness to be flexible with daily schedule changes, and duties unrelated to original assignment.

Hours Per Day: Temporary assignment, for the 26-27 school year only. 7.5 hours per day Assigned to Cambridge Intermediate for all student contact days.
