Job summary

Tarrant County is seeking a skilled building maintenance worker to support county facilities. The role involves preventive maintenance, repairs across HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems, and related building equipment.

Responsibilities include supervising contractors, setting up spaces for events, and performing remodeling tasks as needed. The successful candidate will have a High School diploma or equivalent and at least two years of experience in building maintenance operations.

Qualifications

• Experience in building maintenance operations is preferred.

Job description

Provides maintenance for County buildings through one of the following: preventive maintenance, equipment and machinery repairs, heating and air conditioning, carpentry or painting.

• 2. Performs remodeling tasks for County buildings which may include one of the following skill sets being used by the incumbent: painting, carpentry or electrical work.
• 3. Repairs and maintains HVAC systems and associated building equipment.
• 4. Assists with moving furniture and office equipment.
• 5. Sets up furniture in specific configurations for special events.
• 6. Performs plumbing repairs.
• 7. Assists and supervises the work of contractors and vendors.
• 8. Performs all other related duties as assigned.

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Two (2) years’ experience in building maintenance operations.
• Must have working knowledge of commercial building operations, life safety systems, plumbing, electrical and HVAC systems.
• Valid driver's license.

While performing the duties of this position, the incumbent is regularly required to climb, walk, lift, stand, stoop, kneel, climb, crawl, push and pull. May be exposed to hazardous chemicals and/or electrical hazards. Exposed to outside weather conditions on an occasional basis. This position may require overtime, rotating shifts nights, evenings, weekends and holiday work. Candidates must have the ability to pass a criminal background investigation prior to employment.
