Scientific Applications & Research Associates, Inc. (SARA) seeks a Building Services Technician in Colorado Springs, CO to maintain a clean, safe, and functional facility.

You will perform janitorial duties, assist with routine maintenance, and support security and safety initiatives. The role requires a high school diploma, 0–4 years of building services experience, US citizenship with ability to obtain DoD clearance, and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• 0–4 years of custodian, janitor, or building services experience.
• US Citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain DoD security clearance.
• Moderate physical effort, including standing, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
• Indoor, well-lit and ventilated environment with potential hazards.

Responsibilities

• Escort visitors as needed.
• Janitorial services for restrooms, breakrooms, common areas and manufacturing spaces.
• Monitor building security and safety; lock doors after hours and check appliances for hazards.
• Maintain, service, and perform minor repairs on buildings and equipment.
• Assist with assembly, installation, or repair of machinery or equipment.
• Assist Facility Manager and other workers as needed.
• Notify manager about major repairs or additions to building operating systems.
• Requisition supplies or equipment needed for cleaning and maintenance duties.

SARA is looking for a remarkably talented, motivated, and experienced Building Services Technician to support activities out of our Colorado Springs, CO location. The candidate will have the opportunity to grow and learn with talented engineers, physicists, and technicians on long-standing programs and new programs supporting our customers.

The Building Services Technician keeps the building in clean and orderly condition; perform heavy cleaning duties, such as cleaning floors, shampooing rugs, washing walls and glass, and removing rubbish; assisting with routine maintenance activities as well as building security and safety.

Core Responsibilities

• Escort visitors as needed
• Janitorial services to include all restrooms, breakrooms, common areas, and manufacturing spaces
• Monitor building security and safety by performing tasks such as locking doors after hours and checking electrical appliance use to ensure that hazards are not created
• Maintain, service, and conduct minor repairs on buildings and equipment
• Assist with assembly, installation, or repair of machinery or equipment
• Assist Facility Manager and other workers as needed
• Notify manager concerning the need for major repairs or additions to building operating systems
• Requisition supplies or equipment needed for cleaning and maintenance duties

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent
• 0 4 years of custodian, janitor, or building services experience
• US Citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain DoD security clearance
• May require Moderate physical effort, including standing, sitting, and use of hands while performing duties, and carrying or lifting up to 50 pounds
• Working environment is indoor, moderately loud, reasonably clean, well-lit, and well-ventilated; moderate physical hazards may exist

Pay Range

Salary at SARA is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $16 to $20 (hourly USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of SARA's total compensation package for employees. Positions are on-site, unless indicated otherwise.
