Job summary

Metropolitan Knoxville Airport Authority in Alcoa, Tennessee is seeking a Building Services Specialist I to maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for passengers, visitors, and airport employees at McGhee Tyson Airport.

You will perform custodial tasks across terminals, assist travelers with directions, and help ensure East Tennessee's gateway is ready for takeoff every day. This role is ideal for those starting a career in facilities or custodial services.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Less than one year custodial or related experience considered.
• Strong customer service skills required.
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.

Responsibilities

• Clean and maintain terminal floors, carpets, restrooms, and common areas.
• Empty trash and recycling receptacles.
• Clean windows, mirrors, fixtures, stainless surfaces, and walls.
• Strip, polish, and maintain floor finishes.
• Operate cleaning equipment and safe cleaning solutions.
• Assist passengers with directions and general information.
• Monitor facilities for spills and safety hazards.
• Notify leadership of maintenance needs and repairs.
• Help with snow removal and de-icing around entrances.
• Operate recycling compactors and balers.
• Support a clean, safe, world‑class airport experience every day.

Your Flight Plan (Key Responsibilities)
