Job summary

Milwaukee Area Technical College (MATC) is seeking a dedicated custodian to perform a variety of cleaning and maintenance duties across the Downtown campus. The role requires a high school diploma or GED and two years of experience in custodial work, with responsibilities including restroom cleaning, floor care, equipment operation, and basic repairs.

The position is 1.0 FTE (40 hours/week), Monday–Friday 3:30pm–12am with rotating weekends.

Qualifications

Proficiency with custodial equipment and cleaning methods.
Ability to operate snow removal equipment.
Valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

Perform custodial duties including restroom cleaning, sweeping, mopping, floor scrubbing and waxing, vacuuming, cleaning stairways and classrooms.
Maintain grounds including landscaping, mulching, tree trimming, trash and recycling receptacles, and related tasks.
Operate floor cleaning equipment and lawn maintenance machinery.
Assist with unloading, loading, and moving furniture and supplies; set up rooms for events.
Drive utility vehicles and operate snow removal equipment as needed.
Perform minor repairs to doors, windows and equipment; stock supplies.
Attend training and participate in required in-service activities.
