Summary Description
Under general supervision, performs building cleaning, facilities and grounds maintenance work in schools and administrative buildings. This is the entry and general worker level in the building service staff positions. Employees receive on-the-job training in simple manual skills, use of cleaning and grounds tools and equipment, and supplies to clean interior of buildings and maintain grounds. The work is repetitive, requires sustained physical effort, and involves heavy lifting and moving furniture and equipment. Employees are considered emergency personnel and must report to buildings during inclement weather. Physical Demands: Ability to lift and move heavy objects (minimum 50 lbs.) and perform manual labor. Special Requirements: Must report during inclement weather, may be required to assist at other locations, and work overtime or nights as necessary. Must provide a current telephone number and wear provided uniforms.

Details:
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Basic knowledge of building and grounds work, ability to operate custodial equipment, follow instructions, communicate effectively, and meet core competencies of SSPGS. Education: Completion of 9th grade required; High School diploma or GED preferred. Experience in cleaning and grounds work preferred. No license required.
