Stevenson Consulting, a full-service engineering consulting firm operating in the Mid-Atlantic and Gulf region of the US since 1984, is seeking a Building Science Technician for our Facilities Group to cover the Richmond, VA and Washington, D.C. territory. This in-office position will be located in Ashland, VA.
As a Building Science Technician, you will be responsible for identifying and documenting the quality of building envelope construction on medium and large scale commercial construction projects. You will be supporting project managers, executing various quality assurance related tasks, and following our onsite testing protocols.
You will have the opportunity to work on high performance commercial construction, receive the necessary training to forward your building performance testing knowledge and skills, and help to incorporate various building science principles and practices into the design and execution of building projects.
The successful candidate has relevant experience, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, the ability to work well with clients and staff, as well as the ability to work independently under the guidance and direction of our project managers. Knowledge of building performance-testing methods such as air barrier testing, diagnostic water testing, infrared thermography, and chamber testing is a plus, but not required.
