Maintenance Technician - Full-Time

Job Description:

We are seeking a full-time Maintenance Technician in the Charlotte area. The role involves inspecting, repairing, and maintaining InReach properties, including group homes, condos, apartments, and other buildings, to ensure safety, stability, and quality.

Position: Full-Time

Schedule: Monday-Friday 8:30am to 4:30pm (hours are flexible; potential weekends as needed)

Location: Travel between Cabarrus, Union, and Mecklenburg counties

Pay Rate: $25/hr

Responsibilities may include:

  • Inspecting buildings, equipment, and systems to identify issues, responding to work orders and calls promptly, recommending upgrades, and communicating with staff onsite.
  • Scheduling repairs, responding to emergencies, purchasing supplies, coordinating with outside vendors, and performing preventative maintenance.
  • Ensuring electrical, HVAC, plumbing, and appliance systems are in good condition, upgrading or repairing as needed, and maintaining an inventory of supplies.
  • Maintaining building appearance through repairs/replacements of walls, doors, windows, flooring, fixtures, and overseeing outside maintenance and landscaping.
  • Ensuring safety and environmental compliance by inspecting operational conditions and suggesting improvements.
  • Contributing to team efforts by accomplishing related tasks, adapting to change, and working cooperatively with supervisors.

Skills/Requirements:

  • Proficiency with maintenance tools and equipment
  • Carpentry and repair skills
  • Fluent in English (speaking and writing)
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Strong problem-solving and mathematical skills
  • Decision-making abilities
  • Ability to handle confidential information
  • Good organizational skills

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or GED
  • At least 3 years of experience in building maintenance
  • Experience in repairs, construction, or trades
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., HVAC, electrical) are a plus
  • Valid driver's license and insurance
  • Availability for emergency work on weekends if necessary
