Job summary

Aoka LLC in Dallas/Fort Worth is seeking a Certified Building Official to lead a team of inspectors and serve as the subject matter expert for our sales group, driving quality, safety, and code compliance across the DFW region.

In this full-time role you will supervise inspectors, enforce municipal, state, and federal codes, and oversee permits, plan approvals, and inspections. The position offers strong compensation, benefits, and opportunities for growth.

Qualifications

• ICC CBO certification is required; additional ICC certifications are desirable.
• Minimum 5–7 years of progressive experience in building inspection or code enforcement.
• Proven leadership and supervisory experience.
• Excellent communication and client-facing skills.

Responsibilities

• Supervise building inspectors and manage inspection programs.
• Serve as a subject matter expert supporting the sales team.
• Conduct client visits for complex or escalated projects.
• Administer and enforce municipal, state, and federal building codes, safety, energy, and accessibility standards.
• Oversee issuance of building permits, plan approvals, occupancy certificates, and inspection reports.
• Interpret complex codes and provide guidance to architects, engineers, contractors, and property owners.
• Collaborate with fire, planning, zoning, engineering, and public works departments for coordinated code enforcement.
• Manage appeals, code updates, and ordinance revisions.
• Maintain accurate records and prepare reports on inspections, permitting, and code compliance.
