Job summary

The YMCA of Greater Kansas City is seeking a friendly, dependable team member for our Atchison facility. You will greet members, enforce policies on courts and rooms, and help maintain a safe, clean environment that supports healthy living, youth development and social responsibility.

Requirements include strong communication, reliability and the ability to work well with a diverse group. This part-time role offers opportunities to engage with the community and support program goals.

Qualifications

• Minimum age 18 years.
• Must have good communication skills including phone skills.
• Ability to make independent and sound decisions in a fast paced environment.
• Highly organized, detail, and goal oriented.
• Must be able to work with a diverse group of people in a friendly and consistent manner.
• Must be able to reflect a positive attitude.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to the overall YMCA mission of healthy living, youth development and social responsibility.
• Greet members, participants, staff and general public in a friendly and courteous manner.
• Enforce Y policies and guidelines for the basketball court, walking/running track, weight room, circuit room, teen center, and/or computer lab, in a courteous manner.
• Verify all members and participants using the facility.
• Answer phone lines according to YMCA phone procedures.
• Respond to needs and questions with accurate information.
• Handle complaints in a friendly and courteous manner.
• Notify appropriate staff of any unsafe conditions, complaints, needed repairs, incidents, or accidents immediately.
• Give tours and educate members and prospective members on services, programs, events and volunteer opportunities.
• Keep gym, basketball court, walking/running track, weight room, and circuit room clean and well organized.
