Mountain Hardware and Sports is hiring a Building Materials Retail Associate to help customers in the outdoor yard or shed area, locate and load building materials, and perform cuts and assemblies. The role involves heavy lifting, forklift operation, and customer service outdoors in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Greet and assist customers with finding products, answering questions, and providing detailed product knowledge
• Provide expert advice on selecting appropriate materials for specific projects
• Drive and operate forklift to load building materials safely into vehicles
• Drive and operate a work vehicle to deliver materials to customers' locations
• Perform cuts to wood and other materials using tools such as pipe threaders, propane pumps, panel saws, chop saws, and drills
• Assemble items such as BBQs, patio furniture, and snow blowers

Job description

As a Building Materials Retail Associate at Mountain Hardware and Sports you'll be working in our outdoor yard or (shed) area helping customers locate and load up building materials (lumber, pipe, cement, etc.), filling propane tanks, and making cuts to lumber and other building materials. You'll assemble BBQs, patio furniture, snow blowers, and more, keeping our outdoor product selection ready for any season. This is an active role where you'll be lifting heavy items, operating machinery, and staying on your feet. If you’re someone who enjoys customer service, working outside with your hands, this position could be a great fit.

Work location: on-site (Donner Pass location)

Schedule: full-time (40hrs/week)

Skills and Qualifications

Must be able to work in the United States

Must be at least 18 years or older

Must be able to communicate effectively in English

Must have ability to lift up to 100lbs

Must have ability to use a ladder

Must have the ability to work outdoors for 8 hours daily in varying seasonal temperatures

Ability to use provided computer, programs, and technology-based equipment when needed

Ability to perform duties in a fast-paced, confined environment while maintaining focus and efficiency

Ability to multi-task

Experience

• Customer service: 1 year (preferred)
• Building Materials / Lumber: 1 year (preferred)

License/Certification

• Valid Driver's License and willingness to make deliveries (required)
• Complete and pass DMV MVR report (required)
