Job Title: Outside Sales Representative – Building Materials

A leading distributor of high-quality building materials, dedicated to supplying residential home builders with the products they need to create exceptional homes, is seeking a motivated and results-driven Outside Sales Representative to join the team. This role focuses on building and maintaining strong relationships with residential home builders, contractors, and other key customers to drive sales of our building materials and supplies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and manage a sales territory, proactively identifying and engaging with residential home builders and contractors.

  • Present and promote a wide range of building materials, providing expert product knowledge and tailored solutions to meet customer needs.

  • Build and maintain strong, long-lasting customer relationships through regular communication and on-site visits.

  • Meet or exceed sales targets and contribute to the overall growth of the company.

  • Collaborate with internal teams including customer service, logistics, and inventory management to ensure smooth order fulfillment.

  • Keep up-to-date with industry trends, competitor products, and market conditions to identify new business opportunities.

  • Prepare sales reports, forecasts, and maintain accurate records of customer interactions and sales activity.

  • Attend trade shows, industry events, and training sessions as required.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in outside sales, preferably within the building materials, construction, or related industries.

  • Strong knowledge of residential construction and building materials.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build trust and rapport with customers.

  • Self-motivated with a strong work ethic and ability to work independently.

  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

  • Proficiency with CRM software and Microsoft Office suite.

  • Ability to travel regularly within assigned territory.
