Job summary

Sunpro in Maddens, ID is seeking a Building Materials Estimator to calculate take-offs and material quantities for residential and commercial projects. You will read blueprints, estimate requirements using approved software, and support the sales team with site visits where needed.

The role requires 2+ years in construction, an associate degree or equivalent, and strong attention to detail. Safety and quality standards are emphasized across all projects.

• Attend and participate in all Company sponsored training programs as required.
• Adhere to all safety protocols and Company policies and procedures.
• Perform any other duties, responsibilities or tasks as assigned.

JOB TITLE: Building Materials Estimator

JOB LOCATION: Maddens, ID

EXEMPTION STATUS: Salary (Exempt)

REPORTING TO: Building Materials Estimator Manager

FUNCTION: Estimate and provides building material take off information in accordance to client specifications and SPC business objectives.

KEY ACTIVITIES:

• Visualize, fulfil, and implement the company vision and core values.
• Estimate building materials requirements using approved software while ensuring conformity to standards.
• Generate and provide accurate material quantities for estimating purposes.
• Generate layout and/or location specific material needs for construction.
• Use Bistrack Software for tracking and processing take off and estimating information.
• Read and interpret blueprints.
• Provide job-site support, with the aid of sales department, when requested.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

• Associate's Degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 2+ years experience in residential/commercial construction industry.
• Experience in material "take off" processes and software preferred.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Sedentary work: extended periods of sitting.
• Lifting up to 50 lbs occasionally.
• Repetitive motion associated with operating a computer and other office equipment.
• Visit jobsites occasionally.
