Job summary

Sunpro Corporation in Maddens, ID seeks a Building Materials Estimator to join our team and support project take-offs from blueprints and client specs.

You will estimate material quantities, use Bistrack for take-offs, interpret architectural drawings, and ensure estimates meet code requirements and project standards. This exempt, full-time role emphasizes accuracy, safety, and collaboration with the field and sales teams.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school, or equivalent.
• 2+ years in residential/commercial construction.
• Experience with material take-off processes and software preferred.

JOB TITLE:Building Materials Estimator

JOB LOCATION: Maddens, ID

EXEMPTION STATUS: Salary (Exempt)

REPORTING TO: Building Materials Estimator ManagerFUNCTION: Estimate and provides building material take off information in accordance to client specifications and SPC business objectives.

KEY ACTIVITIES:

• Visualize, fulfil, and implement the company vision and core values.
• Estimate building materials requirements using approved software while ensuring conformity to standards.
• Generate and provide accurate material quantities for estimating purposes.
• Generate layout and/or location specific material needs for construction.
• Use Bistrack Software for tracking and processing take off and estimating information.
• Read and interpret blueprints.
• Provide job-site support, with the aid of sales department, when requested.
• Attend and participate in all Company sponsored training programs as required.
• Adhere to all safety protocols and Company policies and procedures.
• Perform any other duties, responsibilities or tasks as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

• Knowledge of building material estimating process.
• Ability to read and interpret architectural and structural blueprints.
• Knowledge of current local codes associated with building material supplies.
• Demonstrate initiative and reliability with minimal supervision.
• Analytical thinking skills and detail oriented.
• Good written and oral communication skills.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

• Associate's Degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 2+ years experience in residential/commercial construction industry.
• Experience in material 'take off' processes and software preferred.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Sedentary work: extended periods of sitting.
• Lifting up to 50 lbs occasionally.
• Repetitive motion associated with operating a computer and other office equipment.
• Visit jobsites occasionally.
