Sunpro is seeking a Building Materials Driver - CDL to safely deliver lumber and building supplies to customers, ensuring accuracy per tickets and DOT compliance.

You will maintain the vehicle, conduct daily safety checks, and document deliveries while delivering excellent service and support to the dispatch team.

JOB TITLE:

Building Materials Driver - CDL

FUNCTION:

The Driver II, Building Materials is responsible for the safe, accurate, and timely delivery of building materials and lumber supplies as specified by customer orders and Company standards.

REPORTING TO:

Building Materials Supervisor

KEY ACTIVITIES:

• Visualize, fulfil, and implement the company vision and core values.


• Safely drive and operate lumber delivery truck.


• Assume responsibility for the proper operation and maintenance of company vehicle.


• Perform daily pre and post safety checklists on truck.


• Observe and obey all traffic laws in the operation of assigned company vehicle.


• Record the Department of Transportation (DOT) log at the end of each shift.


• Record all information on each delivery ticket and turn in a signed delivery ticket.


• Deliver orders/building materials to each customer according to the specifications on the delivery ticket.


• Provide exceptional customer service and team support.


• Provide back up to dispatch as needed.


• Advise management of any customer situations beyond scope of authority.


• Maintain a commercial driver’s license (CDL) and department of transportation (DOT) medical card.


• Maintain insurable driving record.


• Maintain a clean and safe working environment, identifying and addressing potential safety concerns.


• Operate equipment according to specification and in alignment with designated safety standards.


• Adhere to company policies and procedures as outlined in the employee handbook, etc.


• Perform other duties as required.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED).


• Class A or B CDL.


• Clean driving record.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Physical Work Requirements - Heavy: exerting up to 75 lbs of force regularly.


• Repetitive motion associated with operating a forklift and other equipment.


• Frequent climbing into and out of a large truck, bending, standing, lifting, and ongoing physical activity.


• Sitting for long periods of time while driving.


• Outdoor working conditions, sometimes in extreme climates.
