Kelly Science, Engineering, Technology & Telecom is seeking a Building Management System (BMS) Lead to join the core project team supporting a next-generation biologics facility in the Richmond, VA area. The role starts remotely with site visits and will transition onsite in year 3–5.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of Johnson Controls BMS experience, strong communication skills, and the ability to manage design, vendor deliverables, commissioning, and start-up across a high-profile greenfield

Qualifications

• 5+ years of Johnson Controls BMS experience.
• Pharma project experience is a plus.
• Ability to operate on a high-profile, complex greenfield project.
• Excellent written and verbal communication for technical and non-technical audiences.

Responsibilities

• Ensure BMS systems are delivered in compliance with master specs and standards.
• Supervise design and configuration of building control systems.
• Ensure vendor deliverables are completed on time (flow diagrams, sequences, BOMs, network layouts, schematics).
• Lead the BMS efforts from an Instrument & Controls perspective.
• Review and approve vendor deliverables (AF&IDs, H series drawings, specifications).
• Ensure commissioning and qualification support for the system.
• Assist in facility start-up and troubleshoot with contractors and other trades.

Location: Remote/Richmond, VA- This position begins remotely, with regular site visits as construction progresses, and will ultimately transition onsite (year 3-5) once the facility is operational.

Type: 4-5year project

Hourly Pay: $90-$100+ per hour, based on level of experience

Key Responsibilities:

• Ensure that BMS systems are delivered in compliance with applicable master specifications and standards, and project-specific requirements
• Supervise design and configuration activities related to the building control systems within the project scope.
• Ensures the appropriate vendor deliverables are completed in time to support the overall project schedule. These include, but are not limited to, flow diagrams, sequence of operations, bill of materials, network layouts, architecture drawings & electrical schematics
• Lead the BMS efforts from an Instrument & Controls perspective
• Responsible for the review and approval of vendor deliverables (AF&IDs, H series drawings, specifications)
• Responsible for ensuring there is adequate support for the commissioning & qualification of the system as required.
• Assists in facility start-up and troubleshoots problems with contractors and other trades to ensure proper operation

The Ideal Candidate Will Bring:

• Previous experience with BMS implementation projects- large Pharma projects a plus
• Ability to operate in a high-profile, complex greenfield project involving multiple stakeholders and evolving requirements.
• 5+ years experience with JCI (Johnson Controls) Building Management Systems (BMS)
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for both technical and non-technical audiences
