Glens Falls City School District has an opening for a district-wide Building Maintenance Worker. This is a 12-month position with benefits. Working hours will vary.

Our Maintenance Workers keep Glens Falls'school buildings and grounds in top condition to ensure full and productive use of district facilities. These valuable staff members promote the safety, health, and comfort of students and employees in school buildings and on grounds by maintaining a high standard of safety, cleanliness, and efficiency in all maintenance and repair projects.

Qualifications and Responsibilities

1. Have a working knowledge of building maintenance and grounds practices.
2. Have the ability to make minor plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and mechanical repairs.
3. Understand and carry out basic oral and written directions.
4. Get along well with others.
5. Willing to perform custodial and other manual tasks.
6. Be known for thoroughness and dependability.
7. Minimum one year of experience in Buildings and Grounds Maintenance, with proficiency in at least one trade, including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and HVAC.
8. Strong troubleshooting and mechanical skills are essential.
9. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, instruction manuals, and diagrams.
10. Will be required to obtain Certified Pool Operator's Certification upon hiring.
11. May be required to perform custodial duties as needed.
