Building Maintenance Worker I - Repair and Maintenance Operations Section (Leeward Unit)

Salary Range

Building Maintenance Worker I, $5,658.00 per month

Responsibilities
  • Inspect buildings, equipment, and grounds for repair needs.
  • Perform building repairs such as patching roof leaks, replacing shingles, and fixing doors and windows.
  • Repair and replace building fixtures, floors, and woodwork.
  • Install and repair electrical and plumbing fixtures.
  • Paint, sand, and varnish surfaces; build walls and repair fences.
  • Service and repair mechanical and electrical equipment.
  • Estimate repair costs and materials.
  • Operate hand and power tools; operate vehicles for transportation of materials.
Minimum Qualifications

Four (4) years of experience in building maintenance or equivalent training and experience.

Knowledge of building repair practices, safety procedures, and tools used in carpentry, painting, plumbing, and electrical trades.

Ability to identify repair needs, recognize hazards, read blueprints, estimate materials, and follow instructions.

Valid driver's license required.

Ability to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted and up to 100 pounds with assistance.
