A leading organization is seeking a Building Maintenance Worker responsible for various maintenance and repair tasks within tribally owned facilities. Ideal candidates will have experience in carpentry, plumbing, electrical work, and HVAC systems. Definition: Under general supervision from a Building Maintenance Supervisor, performs a variety of cleaning, maintenance, and minor repair activities in tribally owned buildings in the Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community. This job class is treated as FLSA non-exempt and considered a DRIVING position.
Essential Functions: (Essential functions may vary among positions, but may include the following tasks, knowledges, abilities, skills and other characteristics. This list of tasks is ILLUSTRATIVE ONLY and is not intended to be a comprehensive listing of tasks performed by all positions in this classification.)
1. Performs a variety of building maintenance and repair tasks, including changing light bulbs, painting, basic carpentry, installing/repairing plumbing and electrical fixtures; cleans out clogged drains and sewer lines. Tracks and maintains work requests utilizing work order software as needed. 2. Remodels buildings by removing paint and/or paneling, knocking down non-load bearing walls, constructing new walls in accordance with plans or sketches, and installing, taping, and painting, sheet rock; hauls trash from project to landfill. 3. Installs/repairs heating and cooling systems in new facilities and replaces non-working systems in existing facilities; runs electrical wiring to provide new circuits or replace inadequate circuits. 4. Maintains safe and clean working environment by ensuring all work areas are clean, free of all tools, parts and equipment before leaving the job site. Oversees maintenance subcontractors while working within the SRPMIC Community as needed. 5. Performs other related job duties, as assigned, that enhance and facilitate program operations.Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other Characteristics:
