Job Description / Essential Elements

Description of Basic Functions and Responsibilities: Perform skilled and semi-skilled tasks in maintenance and repair of district buildings and equipment, with some previous experience and a working knowledge of building maintenance expected. Tasks include routine preventive and repair work with minimal supervision.

Typical Duties

• Perform carpentry, painting, plumbing, locksmithing, electrical, heating, and other maintenance tasks.
• Repair, replace, and build gates, walls, walkways, and perform minor welding and brazing.
• Maintain records, order parts, and perform related duties as required.

Minimum Qualifications

• Knowledge of basic building trades and safe operation of tools and equipment.
• Two years of experience in building trades.
• Valid California Driver's License, First Aid and CPR certification within 90 days, possibly a Fork Lift Operator's certificate.

Physical Demands and Working Conditions

Includes physical labor, operating tools, and working outdoors/indoors with exposure to weather, fumes, dust, and noise.
