An established industry player is seeking a dedicated Building Maintenance Worker to join their team. This recruitment is being conducted to fill one (1) full-time vacancy for the position of Building Maintenance Worker and one (1) extra help vacancy for the Department of Corrections at Napa County. The list established from this recruitment may be used to fill future full-time, part-time, limited-term, and extra help vacancies over the next 12 months.

Napa County’s Department of Corrections is responsible for the coordination of all programs and services related to the institutional care, treatment, and rehabilitation of incarcerated persons, including classification, diagnosis, intake screening, and sentencing alternatives programs. The position requires skilled work in the maintenance, alteration, construction of equipment and structures, and related tasks under general supervision. Tasks in the building trades will be assigned. Candidates should have four years of responsible experience in at least one of the following building trades: carpentry, electrical, plumbing, or heating/air conditioning. The ideal candidate will possess hands-on technical skills across all trades and be able to work effectively in a team within a fast-paced environment. Good communication and customer service skills are highly desirable.

Application deadline is 5:00 pm PST on Friday, May 9, 2025. Screening and supplemental question scoring are tentatively scheduled for the week of May 12, 2025. The oral panel interview will tentatively occur the week of June 2, 2025, which will also be when the eligibility list is established. Only the most qualified candidates will be considered for placement on the list, valid for up to one year. The Human Resources Department reserves the right to modify the process.
