Job summary

Circle of Life Hospice in Bentonville, AR is seeking a full-time maintenance technician to manage facility systems and repairs across locations. The role requires hands-on problem solving, adherence to safety protocols, and the ability to follow written and verbal instructions.

You will maintain records, operate basic computer applications, and collaborate with the Director of Physical Plant Operations to address issues promptly.

Qualifications

• Must have time management skills and ability to keep written or computer records.
• Must have a current Arkansas driver’s license and auto liability insurance.
• Prefer background in general maintenance and equipment repair with a minimum of 5 years related experience or training.
• Ability to read and speak English well enough to read road signs, prepare reports and communicate with the public.
• Basic computer skills include Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Responsibilities

• Actively communicates with the Director of Physical Plant Operations to advise of maintenance issues and makes recommendations for solutions.
• Maintains a schedule for routine maintenance tasks across the organization.
• Performs inspections on physical systems such as HVAC, plumbing, electrical, boilers, kitchen equipment, generators, elevator, lighting, security, machinery, and any other systems within skill level to meet health and other safety department requirements and maintains those records.
• Maintains upkeep and appearance of facilities including sheetrock finishing, painting, carpentry, parking lot maintenance, flooring, landscaping, simple electrical, plumbing, HVAC (experience preferred).
• Assists with transportation, movement, and setup of equipment between facilities.
• Responsible for recognizing when a job is above their skill level and needs the skills of a tradesperson.
• Demonstrates compassion, empathy, and patience when interacting with patients, families, co-workers, and the public.
• Represents Circle of Life to the community in a positive manner.
• Demonstrates flexibility and a positive attitude when integrating additional duties.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Job description

Full Time. There are 2 shift options for this position:

1. Thursday - Monday 8-4:30

2. Friday - Tuesday 8-4:30

Will rotate on call schedule every 3 weeks with other technicians.

Ability to diagnose problems and determine the best way to correct them. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions. Ability to use common hand and power tools to fix, replace or repair equipment and parts of facilities. Requires manual dexterity. A responsible, self‑motivating individual able to work well with little or no direct supervision. Must have time management skills, and ability to keep written or computer records. Basic computer skills include Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook. Must have current Arkansas driver's license and auto liability insurance. Satisfactory results from motor vehicle records check and demonstrated ability to safely operate a truck. Good hearing, vision and ability to distinguish between colors. Ability to read and speak English well enough to read road signs, prepare reports and communicate with the public. Basic knowledge of safety issues, hazards and infection control (OSHA). Prefer background in general maintenance and equipment repair with a minimum of 5 years related experience or training.

Specific Duties and Position Requirements

• Maintains upkeep and appearance of facilities consisting of: sheetrock finishing; painting; general carpentry; parking lot maintenance; flooring; landscaping; simple electrical; plumbing; HVAC (experience is preferred); completes documentation accurately and in a timely manner for patient records and compliance.
• Assists with transportation, movement, and setup of equipment between facilities.
• Responsible for recognizing when a job is above their skill level and needs the skills of a tradesperson.
• Demonstrates compassion, empathy, and patience when interacting with patients, families, co-workers, and members of the public.

Work Conditions: May work at any number of locations in a single day, including indoor and outdoor exposure to uncomfortably hot or cold environments, in awkward or cramped conditions, or on ladders. May be at risk for injury from electrical shock, burns, falls, cuts and bruises. May work in areas not wheelchair accessible at all times.

Physical Requirements: Lift 70 to 100 lbs; pushing, pulling, lifting, walking, climbing, and reaching; may have to stand for long period.
