Job summary

Bienvivir All-Inclusive Senior Health in El Paso, TX seeks a Maintenance Tech under Building Maintenance. You will perform plumbing, carpentry, remodeling, painting, minor electrical, and other trade work to maintain Bienvivir facilities.

The role requires 3–5 years of field experience, a high school diploma, own hand tools, and a Texas driver's license. You will document work in the maintenance system, inspect HVAC and electrical components, and support preventive maintenance schedules.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Vocational training is preferred.
• 3–5 years of on-the-job experience in Building Maintenance/Construction.
• Must furnish own hand tools.
• Must have a valid Texas driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Operate and use hand, power and shop tools for construction, woodworking, and maintenance.
• Complete work orders and document progress in the system.
• Perform general maintenance and repairs by assessing needs and gathering tools.
• Conduct monthly walkthroughs to inspect HVAC, water heaters, roofing, GFI outlets, dry vents, and emergency equipment.
• Routinely service HVAC systems, including changing filters, bands, and weatherization.
• Repair plumbing such as unclogging toilets, sinks or urinals, leaks, and water heater work.
• Perform electrical repairs like changing bulbs and repairing fixtures.
• Repair building systems per preventive maintenance schedule.
• Perform construction tasks including wall fabrication and installing windows/doors.
• Maintain pool equipment and check circulation and pump function.
• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, specifications and manuals.

General Description

Under general supervision of the Building Maintenance Supervisor, the Maintenance Tech is to perform general plumbing, carpentry, remodeling, painting, minor electrical and a variety of other trade work in the maintenance and repair of Bienvivir facilities. History of said work performed is to be documented and recorded, utilizing maintenance work order system, to maintain quality assurance within the facilities.

Responsibilities

• Operation and knowledge of hand, power and shop tools used in the course of construction, woodworking, and building maintenance such as power drills, saws, drill presses, joiners and painting equipment.
• Complete work orders and document progress and status on work order, utilizing the maintenance work order system.
• Perform general maintenance and repair i.e. assess situation, assemble necessary tools and materials.
• Perform monthly routine walkthroughs to identify and report any issues with HVAC systems, water heaters, roofing, GFI outlets, dry vents, and emergency equipment. Complete Facilities Hazard Inspections.
• Routinely service HVAC systems to include changing filters, bands, and weatherization process.
• Perform routine plumbing repairs such as unclogging toilets, sinks or urinals, fixing water leaks, leaking faucets, and water heater repairs/installation.
• Perform routine electrical repairs such as changing light bulbs, fluorescent lamps, repairing ballast and light fixtures.
• Repair building systems identified in preventive building maintenance schedule.
• Perform general construction work to include wall fabrication, installation of windows and doors systems.
• Preform maintenance of pool equipment to include assessing filter, motor and water circulation functions.
• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, specifications and manuals.

Qualifications / Requirements

• Must have a High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Vocational training preferred.
• Must have 3-5 years of on the job training experience in the field of Building Maintenance/Construction.
• Must be able to furnish own hand tools to preform assigned tasks.
• Must have a VALID Texas driver’s license.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

• Knowledge: Microsoft applications, to include Word and Excel Power Point; Maintenance software system; heating and cooling systems; generator system.
• Communications Skills: Good verbal and written communication skills is a must to communicate with supervisor and to procure materials.
• Time Management Skills: Ability to work under stress and meet tight deadlines.
• Technical Skills: Read blue print or plans and understand other technical aspects of construction.
