Boys & Girls Clubs of the Bay & Lakes Region in Sturgeon Bay is seeking a Part-Time Building Maintenance Technician to keep our clubhouse safe, functional, and welcoming for youth and families. You will perform preventative maintenance, basic repairs, and upkeep to support our community mission.

The role requires hands-on skills in electrical, plumbing, painting, carpentry, and general upkeep, with a focus on quality workmanship and safety.

Qualifications

  • Hands-on maintenance experience or technical aptitude.
  • Basic knowledge of building systems (electrical, plumbing, HVAC) preferred.
  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision.

Responsibilities

  • Perform monthly safety inspections and maintain records.
  • Complete preventative maintenance and inspections.
  • Conduct routine repairs: electrical, plumbing, painting, carpentry, general upkeep.
  • Coordinate with partners and vendors for inspections/maintenance.
  • Maintain chemical inventories and MSDS documentation.
  • Order supplies and manage inventory.
  • Maintain grounds: mowing, landscaping, snow removal, parking lots.

As our Maintenance Technician, you'll help ensure our Clubhouse remains safe, functional, and welcoming for the youth and families we serve. From preventative maintenance and facility repairs to landscaping and seasonal upkeep, you'll play an important role in supporting our mission by maintaining an environment where kids can thrive.

What You'll Do:

  • Perform monthly safety inspections and maintain accurate records.
  • Complete preventative maintenance and assist with building inspections.
  • Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs, including electrical, plumbing, painting, carpentry, and general building upkeep.
  • Coordinate with community partners and vendors to complete inspections and maintenance projects.
  • Maintain chemical inventories and current MSDS documentation.
  • Order maintenance and cleaning supplies.
  • Maintain the grounds through lawn mowing, landscaping, light snow removal, and keeping parking lots clean and free of debris.
  • Assemble and move furniture, hang bulletin boards and pictures, and set up rooms for meetings and events.
  • Complete maintenance requests and communicate project updates with staff.
  • Report facility concerns and recommend repairs or equipment replacements to the Director of Clubhouse Operations.
  • Attend bi-weekly Operations huddles and provide monthly maintenance updates.
  • Assist with documenting annual maintenance schedules and identifying future facility needs.
  • Operate light and heavy equipment as needed.

What You Bring:

  • A positive attitude and strong work ethic.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • One to three years of building maintenance, construction, or related experience.
  • Some knowledge of electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting, mechanical systems, and general building maintenance.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize multiple tasks, and solve problems with limited supervision.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to build positive working relationships with staff, vendors, and community partners.
  • Valid driver's license or the ability to obtain one.

Bonus Points If You Have:

  • Experience operating light and heavy equipment.
  • Experience working with preventative maintenance programs and facility inspections.
  • Landscaping or grounds maintenance experience.
  • Experience coordinating with contractors or outside vendors.

Schedule: Part-time, variable schedule, up to 15 hours per week. Hours are generally between 6:30 a.m. and 6:30 p.m.

Pay: Starting pay at $16.00/hour up to $20.00/hour based on experience
