Job summary

CBS in Sitka, Alaska seeks Building Maintenance Worker I/II to perform routine and complex maintenance on building systems. Under supervision, you’ll learn and apply maintenance practices, safety standards, and tool operation to keep facilities functional and safe for employees, tenants, and the public.

You will gain experience across HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and life-safety tasks, while documenting work and assisting with preventative programs. On-call support may be required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Alaska driver's license with clean driving record.
• Experience in construction or maintenance preferred.
• Experience with basic tools and equipment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Communicate with supervisor to report progress and issues.
• Document daily work in a computerized maintenance system.
• Perform routine and preventive maintenance on HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and life safety systems.
• Inspect facilities for conditions, needs, and hazards.
• Operate hand and power tools and equipment for maintenance.
• Maintain safety and quality standards and respond to requests during on-call periods.
