Job summary

Tom Thumb Supermarket is seeking a maintenance technician to oversee the upkeep of the warehouse and adjacent facilities. The role involves preventive maintenance, repairs to electrical, plumbing, and refrigeration-related systems, and collaborative problem-solving with the management team.

Candidates should be able to handle flexible scheduling, perform welding and fabrication tasks, and maintain safe, efficient operations across building systems and equipment.

Qualifications

• Performs routine preventive maintenance on industrial equipment.
• Troubleshoots and repairs industrial equipment and systems.
• Repairs damage to industrial equipment as it occurs.
• Assists in developing/updating preventive maintenance procedures.
• Documents man-hours and parts used.
• Supports other maintenance activities including building and refrigeration maintenance.
• Maintains a flexible schedule.

Responsibilities

• Maintain entire warehouse building, inside and out, safely and efficiently.
• Repair, fabricate, and weld racks, dock plates/doors.
• Repair dock lights and other electrical fixtures; respond to alarms.
• Work with manager to optimize operations and cost efficiency.
• Ensure cleanliness and maintenance of shop and tools; troubleshoot issues.
• Perform other duties as required.

Key Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited To

• Maintain entire warehouse building, both inside and outside, in a safe productive and efficient manner.
• Repairing, fabricating, and welding of racks, dock plates, dock doors, and overall building.
• Repair dock lights, lights, and other electric appliances.
• Respond to fire alarms.
• Repair plumbing and sprinkler systems, handle testing, contractor safety, PPM readings, calibration of instruments, PC controls on computer that monitors refrigeration systems, PMC 2000 software system, computer skills – MS applications.
• Work closely with others in the department and share responsibility in solving problems, coordinating work activities, and repairing equipment. Be a positive team-oriented associate and have good follow through.
• Effectively interact and work with manager to ensure the most efficient and cost-effective operation.
• Ensure the cleanliness and maintenance of shop and shop equipment through regular inspections.
• Troubleshoot problems.
• Ability to work various days and times based on the needs of the business.
• Clean up work area and tools between job assignments.
• Must have experience in residential remodeling, plumbing, electrical, welding, garage door repair and low voltage security systems/cameras.
• Perform other duties as required.
