Job summary

Amphenol Communications Solutions in Valley Green, PA is seeking a Maintenance Technician to support building operations, perform preventive, corrective, and emergency maintenance with minimal supervision.

You will respond to maintenance requests, fix facilities, move equipment, perform safety checks, and ensure HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems operate safely and efficiently. You will operate basic machine shop equipment and use hand tools, complying with safety standards.

Qualifications

  • Technical training beyond high school with 2+ years in manufacturing maintenance.
  • Ability to read safety and maintenance documents and manuals.
  • Basic knowledge to operate machine shop equipment and hand tools.
  • OSHA certifications a plus; forklift proficiency preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Respond to maintenance requests and perform repairs to the building and facilities.
  • Move equipment and furniture as needed to support operations.
  • Perform monthly safety checks on equipment and systems.
  • Inspect and maintain HVAC, plumbing and electrical systems for safety and efficiency.
  • Operate basic machine shop equipment and various hand tools.
  • Complete all assignments safely and in accordance with policies.

Job description

Purpose:
  • Maintain building operations and ensure that the facilities are safe and functional at all times. Responsible for performing maintenance and installation of company equipment, machines, and building structure with minimum supervision. The Technician assists with all aspects of the property\u2019s maintenance including the physical grounds, preventive, corrective, and emergency maintenance.
Duties and Job Functions:
  • Respond to maintenance requests and handling any necessary repairs to the building, such as fixing flooring, drywall, plaster, painting.
  • Moving equipment, furniture, as necessary.
  • Perform monthly safety check on equipment.
  • Perform quality checks on HVAC, air conditioning, plumbing and electrical systems.
  • Operate machine shop equipmentand various hand tools.
  • All assignments must be completed in a safe manner in compliance with accepted engineering standards, in accordance with company policy, and with minimal or no supervision.

Education/Experience/Skills:
  • Technical training beyond High School preferred with 2+ years of current related experience and/or training in a manufacturing facility as a maintenance technician necessary; or 3+ years as a maintenance technician and equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Some electrical and plumbing background experience preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Candidate must demonstrate skills in operating basic machine shop equipment as well as familiarity and knowledge on the proper selection and application for all hand tools.
  • OSHA Certifications a plus; Forklift (Powered Industrial Trucks)
Mathematical Skills
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure.
Computer Skills
  • General ability required.
Other Information

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms, talk and hear. The employee is required to climb, balance and stoop, kneel, crouch and/or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee may be exposed to risk of electrical shock. The employee may be exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; high, precarious places; outside weather conditions and heat.

Some basic PPE (personal Protective equipment) is required to perform basic job duties. This PPE is provided by the employer to be able to perform these tasks.
