Job summary

The Lutheran Home Association in Belle Plaine, MN is seeking a Building Maintenance Technician to support daily campus operations, maintaining building systems, equipment, and grounds to ensure a safe, comfortable environment for residents. This full-time role is on day shift (7:30am–4pm) with a five-week on-call rotation.

A C-2 Boiler License or eligibility within six months is required; a valid driver’s license and clean record are also needed.

Qualifications

• C-2 Boiler License required or must obtain within 6 months.
• Valid driver’s license with clean driving record.
• Experience in building maintenance or skilled trades preferred.
• Ability to read manuals, blueprints, and technical documents.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Basic math and recordkeeping skills.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance and repairs on building systems, equipment, and furnishings.
• Inspect and repair beds, wheelchairs, HVAC systems, and other facility equipment.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, plumbing, and electrical systems.
• Complete general maintenance tasks (light changes, trash removal, etc.).
• Assist with painting, carpentry, and structural repairs.
• Assist with outdoor grounds including mowing, trimming, snow removal, and shoveling.
• Monitor boilers, ventilation, refrigeration, and other operating systems.
