Job Summary:
The Building Maintenance Technician supports the building, property, and office spaces of our CNC machine shop. This role involves performing routine maintenance, basic repairs, and troubleshooting across facility systems, including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and general upkeep to ensure a safe, efficient, and comfortable environment for both production and office areas.
Essential Job Duties:
- Perform basic plumbing repairs (e.g., fixing leaks, unclogging drains), electrical repairs (e.g., replacing switches, outlets, light fixtures), carpentry tasks (e.g., repairing doors, cabinets, partitions, painting), and office furniture repair to maintain functional and safe work environments.
- Assist with overseeing outside contractors.
- Assist with installation, maintenance, and repair of CNC machines and other shop equipment when necessary.
- Regularly inspect community spaces to identify mechanical issues.
- Maintain property grounds, including minor landscaping, trash removal, and exterior repairs.
- Conduct performance assessments of appliances such as refrigerators, microwaves, sinks, showers, and toilets.
- Lift up to 50 pounds without restrictions.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Experience & Skills:
- High school diploma or GED required; technical or vocational training in maintenance, mechanics, or related fields preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role.
- Experience in a manufacturing or CNC machine shop environment is highly desirable.
- Basic knowledge of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems.
- Proficient with hardware tools and power equipment.
- Operation of forklift/scissor lift will be trained.
- Detail-oriented and organized.
- Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Knowledge of lockout/tagout procedures.
