Job summary

The Viscardi Center is seeking a Maintenance Technician to ensure the safety and security of building occupants and perform a range of light maintenance tasks in the New York area.

The role requires hands-on experience in maintenance, carpentry, electrical, plumbing, or related fields, with knowledge of power tools and a valid NYS driver license. Typical hours are 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, with potential overtime as needed.

Qualifications

• Prior hands-on maintenance experience (carpentry, electrical, plumbing or related).
• Knowledge of power tools and other equipment required.
• Valid NYS Driver License required; ability to work overtime as needed.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and perform light maintenance tasks such as repairing equipment, replacing ceiling tiles, and painting.
• Apply carpentry, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC knowledge in maintenance work.
• Set up and breakdown conference rooms.
• Ensure building security at end of shift.
• Respond to work orders and assist with preventive maintenance tasks.
• Remove snow/ice as needed.

Job description

*This position is Mon - Fri (10:00AM -6:30PM)

As a Maintenance Technician,, you will ensure the safety and security of building occupants by:

• Troubleshoot and perform light maintenance duties such as repairing broken equipment, replacing ceiling tiles, painting, etc.,
• Possess strong knowledge of carpentry, electrical, plumbing and HVAC,
• Performing conference room set ups and break downs,
• Ensure building is appropriately secured at the end of shift,
• Respond to work order requests and assist with preventive maintenance tasks,
• Perform removal of snow/ice as necessary.

Qualifications & Education

Successful candidate will have prior hands on Maintenance, carpentry, electrical, plumbing, construction, or related experience. Must have knowledge of power tools and other equipment and a valid NYS Driver License. Must be able to work occasionally over time, have strong work ethic including safety conscious.

This position is 40 hours per week.
