Job description

Introduction

The Maintenance Specialist performs various general building maintenance functions in a variety of skilled and semi-skilled craft trades to support mechanical and electrical heating, ventilating and air‑conditioning machinery at designated Melwood properties.

Job Details

Location: Waldorf, MD.

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 7:00am to 4:00pm with occasional nights and weekends.

Salary: $20.06 per hour.

Status: Full‑time position offering a competitive salary, comprehensive benefits package, and employer paid contribution to health care coverage.

Responsibilities
  1. Conduct repairs on Melwood properties, including residential, in an efficient and workmanlike manner, covering carpentry, plumbing, painting, mechanical, HVAC, electrical, etc.
  2. Support the maintenance system by complying with all aspects of the paper flow and FMX system, including but not limited to work requests, gas log, and maintaining assigned vehicle.
  3. Play a major role in the general upkeep of company property; perform snow/ice removal, apply ice melt, maintain roads, mow lawns and fields, control erosion, etc.
  4. Assist supervisors in identifying current and future maintenance needs while watching out for safety and fire hazards, reporting them promptly or taking direct action.
  5. Assist other maintenance personnel in maintaining efficient operation of the garage, including cleanup, inventory, and tool control.
