Job summary

McLeod Health in Florence, SC is seeking a Building Maintenance Mechanic II to operate and maintain a range of building and mechanical systems on-site, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and safety systems.

Under limited supervision, you will perform repairs, preventive maintenance, and inspections, ensuring compliance with codes and quality standards, while supporting energy management and work order processes.

Responsibilities

• Maintains mechanical systems including HVAC, refrigeration, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection.
• Performs preventive maintenance and repairs on boilers, pumps, and air handling equipment.
• Log readings and review work orders daily to prioritize repairs.
• Ensures systems comply with applicable codes and safety standards.
• Respond to emergencies and work varied shifts, including weekends.

Job Description

Responsibilities:

Maintains various types of building and mechanical systems to include, but not limited to: refrigeration, air conditioning, heating, plumbing, electrical, automation, medical gas and fire protection systems, Energy Management, and Work Order Management systems.

Under limited supervision, ensure safe and efficient operation of various types of mechanical systems to include, but not limited to: building, refrigeration, air conditioning, heating, plumbing, electrical, automation, medical gas and fire protection systems, and follows through to completion any required repairs maintenance and alterations

Participates in skilled maintenance and repair of HVAC systems, electrical, buildings and structures and ensures they are well-maintained, including: boilers, chillers, pumps, heat exchangers, air handling equipment, variable frequency drives and remote terminal units.

Leads or Participates in skilled ceilings, walls, floors, roofs, doors, windows, furniture, framework, drywall, and locks.

Ensure maintenance of all systems as required by applicable codes and standards.

Log equipment performance readings as assigned.

Ensure that personnel are trained, and supplies are available to keep all structures in good repair

Stay abreast of Building Maintenance Mechanics by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.

Maintains building components such as ceilings, walls, floors, roofs, doors, windows, elevators, stairways and building interior & exterior.

Perform Preventive Maintenance Measures.

Maintain inventory of repair equipment and supplies.

Log daily reading of equipment and systems as assigned.

Review Work Orders daily and complete associated tasks/repairs by Type/Priority.

Perform other maintenance duties as requested.

Due to insurance regulations, must be at least 21 years of age with a valid SC driver's license.
