Responsibilities

• Performs general building maintenance and repair activities; carpentry, electrical, plumbing and mechanical tasks; paints buildings and equipment.
• Performs carpentry, electrical, masonry, drywall, mechanical, electronic, and plumbing repair and maintenance work.
• Prepares surfaces for painting and paints walls, ceilings, doors, windows, cabinets, and equipment.
• Frames and lays out work for carpentry tasks; repairs walls and furniture.
• Installs and replaces receptacles and switches; pulls wire; installs light fixtures and conduits.
• Repairs plumbing facilities and fixtures.
• Troubleshoots and repairs electrical, electronic, refrigeration and air conditioning malfunctions; repairs motors.
• Installs, services and repairs heating and air conditioning equipment.
• Prepares, mixes, and matches paints and related chemicals.
• Prepares reports, work orders, time sheets, logs and records.
• Designs painting projects, estimates materials, and purchases supplies.
• Prepares and installs signs.
• Refinishes and moves furniture; transports furniture and supplies.
• Prepares meeting rooms; assists with snow and ice removal.
• Assists other building mechanics and custodians; performs custodial duties as assigned.

Job description

Performs intermediate semiskilled and skilled work in a variety of building maintenance assignments. Does related work as required. Work is performed under regular supervision.

The hiring salary for this position is $20.60/hour to $28.33/hour based on experience.

The full salary range for this position is $20.60/hour to $36.05/hour to provide opportunity for growth and development.

Any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from high school and one (1) to three (3) years of experience as a semiskilled or skilled worker in the maintenance, repair, painting, and/or construction activity to which assigned.
