Parks/Blackwater Falls Resort

Under general supervision, this employee will perform a variety of skilled and semi-skilled work for the maintenance and repair of state facilities at Blackwater Falls State Park. This work will include, but is not limited to: rough and fine carpentry; plumbing; electrical; concrete and masonry; window cleaning; trash pickup; landscaping and groundskeeping; snow removal; housekeeping and janitorial work; repairing water lines; floor care and maintenance; washing vehicles; vehicle maintenance; repairing toilets and sewer systems; repairing sewer lines; moving furniture; loading and unloading supplies; moving and replacing appliances; inventorying supplies; repairs to HVAC units; repairs to kitchen and food service equipment; electronic repairs; maintaining fire alarms and suppression systems; small engine repair; maintaining a safe workplace; painting; operating vehicles; operating mowing equipment; and operating various hand tools and power equipment.

This work will include, but is not limited to: rough and fine carpentry; plumbing; electrical; concrete and masonry; window cleaning; trash pickup; landscaping and groundskeeping; snow removal; housekeeping and janitorial work; repairing water lines; floor care and maintenance; washing vehicles; vehicle maintenance; repairing toilets and sewer systems; repairing sewer lines; moving furniture; loading and unloading supplies; moving and replacing appliances; inventorying supplies; repairs to HVAC units; repairs to kitchen and food service equipment; electronic repairs; maintaining fire alarms and suppression systems; small engine repair; maintaining a safe workplace; painting; operating vehicles; operating mowing equipment; and operating various hand tools and power equipment.

The employee will plan and develop scheduled construction and maintenance projects as instructed by the supervisor. Work will include developing materials and supply lists, estimating staffing needs, and determining the necessary tools to complete the project. The employee will work with park guests to promptly resolve their maintenance requests in a manner that reflects a positive image of Blackwater Falls State Park.

The employee will assist with other building and grounds maintenance projects as needed to complete major projects within designated time frames and to enhance the park's guest experience. The employee’s primary shift will be in the evenings. The employee must be available to work weekends, holidays, evenings, and nights.

Performs related duties. Regular attendance is required.

Minimum Qualifications

Training: No formal education required.

Experience: Two years of full-time or equivalent part-time paid experience in building maintenance or as a helper in a building trade.

Special Requirement: Specific positions may require certification from a federal EPA approved testing organization as a certified technician required by the Clean Air Act on refrigerant recycling.

Section 608 Technician Certification EPA regulations require that technicians who repair equipment that could release ozone depleting refrigerants into the atmosphere be certified. Applicants must pass an EPA approved test to earn their Section 608 Technician Certification. Are you a Section 608 Certified Technician on refrigerant recycling?
