A leading university seeks a Building Maintenance Mechanic to provide essential maintenance and repair services across its facilities. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining HVAC systems, plumbing, and other building accessories, ensuring a safe operational environment. This role requires significant experience and skills in building maintenance, with a focus on teamwork and dedication to service excellence.
Facility Operations

Nature and Level of Work
Provide semi-skilled maintenance and repair for a building or group of buildings, including permanent and moveable equipment, referring more complex problems to skilled trades staff.
Key Responsibilities
* Repair and maintain heating, air conditioning and ventilation systems including single room units up to complete building systems.
* Repair and maintain building accessories and equipment, such as tables, chairs, charts, gas and electrical appliances, etc.
* Repair and maintain plumbing systems for water softeners, restroom facilities, water coolers, etc.; open sewers/drains; replace faucets, etc.
* Repair and maintain refrigeration units by recharging gas supply, assuring power supply, etc.
* Locate parts and prepare requests for purchase of parts and equipment; provide input as to recommended equipment purchases for consistency in maintenance and repair.
* Clean area upon completion; return materials and equipment and restore area to original state.
* Perform other duties as assigned.
7:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. or 7:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
Monday - Friday
* A high school degree or equivalent combination of education and experience is necessary.
* Four years of experience in general building maintenance, including heating/air conditioning, electrical water treatment, plumbing, etc., is necessary.
* Ability to read blueprints and interpret diagrams is necessary.
* A valid driver's license may be required for certain positions.
Must possess a valid driver's license, which will allow legal operation of a motor vehicle in the State of Missouri.
Salary Range: $17.52 - $23.50 per hour
Grade: GGS-E
