Job summary

Lourdes Noreen McKeen Residence is seeking a Building Maintenance professional in West Palm Beach, FL. The role involves maintaining equipment in laundry, kitchen, boiler rooms and air conditioners, following maintenance schedules, and performing unscheduled repairs.

Applicants should have at least three years of building maintenance experience, including plumbing and electrical work, with HVAC or carpentry credits preferred; must communicate in English and be able to lift up to 25 pounds.

Qualifications

• High School or vocational school graduate or equivalent.
• Three years experience in building maintenance including plumbing and electrical.
• HVAC, electrical, carpentry, drywall or building trades courses preferred.
• Independent contracting experience in general repairs welcome.
• Must speak and write English clearly.
• Must be able to lift 25 pounds to 5 feet and move 50 feet.
• May assist in evacuation of residents during emergencies.

Responsibilities

• Assure that maintenance schedules are followed.
• Maintain equipment in laundry, kitchen, boiler rooms, and individual air conditioners.
• Perform unscheduled maintenance as requested.
• May perform duties of Security Guard on a temporary basis.
• On-call maintenance 24 hours.

AFaith-Based, Nonprofit, Short-Term Rehabilitation and Skilled Geriatric Care facility sponsored by the Carmelite Sisters for the Aged and Infirm, we've served the community since 1960. We are a place of life, a place of caring, and more importantly, a true home for our residents.

We are seeking to hire a Building Maintenance professional.

• $20 to $22 per hour based on skills and experience.
• Full-Time schedule which includes evenings as needed plus Every Other Weekend.

Building Maintenance Qualifications

• High School or vocational school graduate or equivalent.
• Three years experience in building maintenance which must include plumbing and electrical experience.
• Courses in heating, ventilation, air conditioning, electrical, carpentry, drywall or building trades preferred.
• Demonstrated independent contracting experience in general repairs considered.
• Must be able to speak and write the English language in an understandable manner.
• Must be able to push, pull, move, and/or lift a minimum of 25 pounds to a minimum height of 5 feet and be able to push, pull, move, and/or carry such weight a minimum distance of 50 feet.
• May be necessary to assist in the evacuation of residents during emergency situations.

Building Maintenance Job Summary

• Assure that maintenance schedules are followed at all times.
• Maintain equipment in laundry, kitchen, boiler rooms, and individual air conditioners.
• Perform unscheduled maintenance as requested.
• May be required to perform the duties of a Security Guard on a temporary or as needed basis.
• As scheduled, comply with on-call maintenance schedule for response to call 24 hours a day.

Building Maintenance Work Conditions

• Subject to frequent interruptions and may need to reschedule maintenance activities.
• Interaction with residents, personnel, visitors, government agencies/personnel, etc.
• Subject to hostile and emotionally upset residents, family members, personnel, and visitors.
• Must work beyond normal working hours and on weekends and holiday, as well as in other positions as needed.
• Subject to call back during emergency conditions (e.g., severe weather, evacuation, post-disaster, etc.).
• May be required to work in cramped spaces and in adverse weather conditions.
