Job summary

American National is seeking a skilled Building Maintenance Engineer in League City, TX. You will oversee the operation and maintenance of building systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and process controls, ensuring safety and efficiency on site.

You will perform routine maintenance, address issues promptly, manage inventory, and participate in on-call duties. A high school diploma and 1–3 years of related experience are required, with preferred licenses enhancing eligibility.

Qualifications

• Clean driver’s license.
• Ability to respond to emergency alarms after hours.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine operational maintenance on equipment, including start-up and shutdown procedures.
• Evaluate and resolve arising problems with supervision as needed.
• Conduct lighting inspections, manage bulb inventory, change bulbs, and request ballast replacements.
• Troubleshoot and repair plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and related issues.
• Respond to maintenance duties/work orders on the premises.
• Perform preventative maintenance on equipment as assigned.
• Demonstrate on-call responsibilities on a rotating basis and assist in storm preparation.

About The Role

As a Building Maintenance Engineer, you will ensure the smooth operation and maintenance of building systems at a specified location. This includes handling HVAC, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, process controls, property equipment, and more. Your expertise will be crucial in keeping our facilities running efficiently and safely.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform routine operational maintenance on equipment, including start-up and shutdown procedures.
• Evaluate and resolve any arising problems, with assistance and/or supervision as needed.
• Conduct lighting inspections, manage inventory of bulbs, change bulbs, and request assistance for ballast replacements.
• Troubleshoot and repair plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and miscellaneous issues.
• Respond to maintenance duties/work orders as they occur on the premises.
• Perform preventative maintenance work on equipment as assigned.
• Demonstrate on-call responsibilities on a rotating basis and assist in storm preparation.

What We're Looking For

• High school diploma or GED.
• One to three years of experience in a related field.

• Ability to respond to emergency alarms for fire and security during both regular business hours and after hours.
